The NFL Alumni-KC Chapter will once again spread some holiday joy by handing out presents to patients at Children’s Mercy South Hospital.  Ed Budde, NFLA KC President “This has become an annual event for our Chapter. We look forward to spreading a little cheer to the children who are hospitalized along with their family members and also make visit to out-patient & treatment areas as well”.

Many former players will be helping out and living up to the Alumni’s motto: “Caring for Kids”

Gifts have been donated and those not used during actual visit will be handled out at other CMH facilities by staff members.

"Here’s what it’s really all about: Caring for Kids. The SBOG is the exclamation point on a series of events – the local tournaments – that take place across the country, raising thousands upon thousands of dollars for children’s charities. Those tournaments involve NFL Alumni Chapters and Members engaging the community to put together teams, enlist sponsors and work with deserving
organizations. Kids are the real winners here – the kids who benefit from all of this effort. There are countless children across the country, who get help directly or indirectly from the charities our golf tournaments support. We help fund scholarships, social services, medical research aimed at children’s health, and many other worthy programs. So the teams in the Super Bowl of Golf exemplify the work of all of you in the NFL Alumni, connecting with each other and the community toward a goal much greater than ourselves: advancing the cause of children." - Taken from October 2013 NFLA Newsletter, By Joe Pisarcik
