"Here’s what it’s really all about: Caring for Kids. The SBOG is the exclamation point on a series of events – the local tournaments – that take place across the country, raising thousands upon thousands of dollars for children’s charities. Those tournaments involve NFL Alumni Chapters and Members engaging the community to put together teams, enlist sponsors and work with deserving
organizations. Kids are the real winners here – the kids who benefit from all of this effort. There are countless children across the country, who get help directly or indirectly from the charities our golf tournaments support. We help fund scholarships, social services, medical research aimed at children’s health, and many other worthy programs. So the teams in the Super Bowl of Golf exemplify the work of all of you in the NFL Alumni, connecting with each other and the community toward a goal much greater than ourselves: advancing the cause of children." - Taken from October 2013 NFLA Newsletter, By Joe Pisarcik
